DEL POTRO RUINING RODDICK'S SUMMER
Monday August 17th 2009
For the second week in a row, Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Andy Roddick in a U.S. Open Series event. In both cases, Roddick won the first set, only to eventually lose the matches in the third set.
Saturday night in Montreal saw Roddick double fault on break point to give Del Potro a 6-5 lead in the third. After being broken, Roddick did the same to his racquet before going to his chair for the changeover. Del Potro held serve to win the match and earn himself a place in Sunday's final.
With only two weeks until the U.S. Open, the top American player is struggling to close out matches with the same form he displayed at this year's Wimbledon. Speaking of trouble closing out matches, Roddick's opponent at the 2009 Wimbledon final, Roger Federer, dropped a 5-1 lead over Jo Wilfred Tsonga in the third set, and would go on to lose the match to the popular Frenchman.

NADAL TO RETURN AT MONTREAL
Monday August 03rd 2009
Rafael Nadal is set to make his return to competition next week, during the U.S. Open Series event in Montreal. Nadal has been suffering from tendinitis in his knees for several years, and the pain finally became too much for him following the French Open. He was forced to miss Wimbledon, where he was the defending champion following last year's amazing final against Roger Federer.

Nadal's camp announced today that he will play in Montreal next week (Aug. 10) in Montreal, as part of the U.S. Open Series. The sport has missed his presence over the past month, and a healthy Nadal is a welcome sight for tennis fans. It will be interesting to see how his body holds up, considering the toll hard courts can impose upon even the healthiest of players.
